The ARTSHOUSE: A Vision
We want to create a fundamental change in the way of thinking about the arts: a change of paradigm- a revolution! The ARTS are Vital to society, our communities, to us individually, to our health and well-being. Simply put:- The ARTS Do The Public Good!
We need to celebrate the impact and the power of the arts every day and to the general public as the arts impact us all on so many levels: where would we be today during this pandemic without the arts? The arts community around the world has responded creating new ways to connect, perform, create and communicate.
Can you imagine a world without the arts?
I produced a tee shirt that asked that question and when I wear it-I get stopped all the time with people spontaneously answering the question-it has sparked many a dialogue.

The ARTSHOUSE will be about celebrating everyone's voice through the arts; everyone expressing their truth, their opinions, ideas, it will be about possibilities, challenges and opportunities. It will be about celebrating youth finding their voices, immigrants finding their voices, arts in education, arts in prevention, it will be about those arts programs that are lifelines to at risk youth and communities, art in the community, art in economic community revitalization, creative placemaking, public art, murals, art in workforce development and in the workplace; it will be about celebrating arts in wellness and healthcare. It will be about veterans who are artists and veterans who are using the arts to heal, it will be about rehabilitation through the arts, it will be about celebrating the transformative power of the arts. It will be about the arts and science, arts and climate change.
It will be about connecting through the arts and uniting for peace. It will be about building bridges through the arts. It will be about art in social justice and equality, it will be about stimulating creativity for our future. It will be about the arts across America and around the world in everyday places making an impact.
It will be about the history of the arts doing the public good.
The ARTSHOUSE will about showcasing how the arts provide a safe container for everyone regardless of their culture to express ideas, feelings, and opinions about coming into being as part of society, dealing with hardships, happiness, stress, and illness through creative expression. No other activity allows us that voice. The arts allow us individually, collectively and culturally to say things we might never get to say. The ARTS have so much potential, power and possibilities so why do we always have to explain and justify their value? We must show their value-that is the ARTSHOUSE!
We want to create a network of organizations and individuals across the USA and around the world helping us celebrate the power and impact of the arts; hold pop up exhibits, performances and discussions and eventually create an actual structure. We want to create a media company, be a resource, a center for education and performances and we will be creating special projects.
